Cleaver Juice – Lymphatic Support Tonic
Cleaver juice is a simple, fresh herbal tonic made from cleavers (Galium aparine). It's been used for ages to gently support the lymphatic system – basically your body's natural drainage and detox pathway.
How to Harvest Cleavers

The best time is early spring when the plants are young, tender, and a bright, vibrant green. Look for them in clean spots away from roads, chemicals, or sprayed areas.
Use scissors or just pull the top 6–12 inches – that's the juiciest, most tender part. Skip any thick woody stems or leaves that are starting to turn yellow.
Rinsing & Prepping
Toss the fresh cleavers into a big bowl and give them a good rinse in cool water, swishing them around gently to knock off any dirt or little bugs. Do it once or twice if they're really dirty.
Then lay them out on a clean towel or spin them in a salad spinner to get rid of most of the water.
How to Make the Juice

Best way – Juicer Just feed the fresh cleavers straight into your juicer and collect the juice. Drink it as fresh as possible.
No juicer? Blender method Chop the cleavers a bit, throw them in the blender with a small splash of water, and blend until smooth. Strain everything through a fine mesh strainer, cheesecloth, or nut milk bag. Press or squeeze hard to get as much liquid out as you can.
How to Use It

Take 1–2 ounces daily on an empty stomach. You can drink it straight or mix it with a little water.
For best results, use it consistently for 2–4 weeks.
Easy sparkling version: Drop 1–2 frozen cleaver juice cubes into a glass, pour in a can of Spindrift or any sparkling water, and sweeten with a little honey or maple syrup if you want.
Storage
In the fridge: Keep fresh juice in a sealed glass jar. It’ll last 3–5 days. Give it a gentle shake before drinking.
In the freezer: Pour the juice into ice cube trays and freeze. Once solid, pop the cubes into a freezer bag or container. Just thaw 1–2 cubes whenever you need your daily dose.
Why People Use Cleaver Juice

Traditionally, cleavers are used to help with:
- Lymphatic drainage
- Reducing puffiness and fluid retention
- Clearing up skin
- Gentle daily detox support
- Soothing swollen or congested tissues
The lymphatic system doesn’t have a pump like your heart does – it relies on movement and a little herbal help to keep things flowing smoothly. Cleavers is a gentle, old-school way to give it that support.
